MEET Katy
Executive Director
Katy Marrero, M.S., CCC-SLP Founder, Kreative Kids Therapy
Executive Director
Katy Marrero is a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of KKT, a private practice established in 2013 dedicated to supporting children’s developmental needs. Her journey into therapy is not just professional—it is deeply personal.
Katy began her career in education, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Barry University. She spent five years working as a teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. However, her life and career path shifted dramatically with the birth of her triplets. Facing the reality that her children required early intervention, and navigating the complexities of ADHD within her own family, Katy realized she needed more tools to help them thrive.
Determined to learn how to best support her own children, she returned to school to become a therapist. She earned her Master’s degree from Florida International University (F.I.U.) and transitioned into a role as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where she served for three years before moving into private practice.
Today, Katy uses that unique blend of maternal empathy and clinical expertise to help other families. She holds specialized certifications in the Beckman Oral Motor Approach, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), and the SOS Approach to Feeding. At KKT, she specializes in offering the SOS feeding program and facilitating social skills groups, ensuring that every child receives the compassionate, expert care she sought for her own children.
